saturday afternoon at daegu station
"Do you always have your digital camera with you?" Jiyoung asked.
Ella and I had walked downtown to get some sketchbooks and film for Ella's new Hello Kitty camera at Homeplus. We had put our purchases in a locker there and strolled on to Daegu station to get tickets for Ulsan, where we'll be attending a New Year's Eve party at Barry and Justyna's.
Jiyoung found us in the basement of Lotte Department store while I was looking for some apple juice. She was dressed up and had her hair loose so I didn't recognize her at first. Ella didn't recognize her at all until I reminded her that Jiyoung had gone with us to the Buddhist temple in Palgongsan and shown Ella how to bow and 'make a wish'.
Jiyoung was meeting 'just a friend' coming into town on the train from Kyongsan. He turned out to be a tall young man, and though I had asked Jiyoung a few times whether it was actually a date she kept on shyly denying it. I gave her two of the discount coupons I had for Lotte Cinema anyways, and recommended that she suggest seeing Casino Royale, the new James Bond flick. I'm sure any guy would be impressed by a lady who did that.
"Do you always have your digital camera with you?" Jiyoung asked.
Come to think of it, now that I have my new 1GB SDRam card, perhaps I will.

ah, there's nothing as sweet as declaring jihad against the evyl behemoths of technology, such as microsoft and google.
tho i hear that steve jobs apple guy is more of an asshole than billy "the borg" gates. as far as youtube goes, just another lucky garage type company who scored $1.6 billion from google. why blame them for being assimilated? at the time they got acquired, i think there were like 56 people in the company. support the little guys, i always say!
since blogger is now google as well, i demand you stay true to your cause and switch to wordpress or something.
all health and happiness to you and yours for 2oo7!
happy new year

z0tl, it's not really a jihad or a cause. Perhaps you didn't catch the limerick diptych I posted last winter that was written in the fall of '95. Here's a reprise.
I've never owned a computer
I store all my thoughts in my head
And if I'm desirous
To hack out a virus
I sneeze in my hanky instead
I've never owned a computer
I can't stand the tapping of keys
I'd rather drop acid
Than feed Microflaccid
No thanks to your techno disease
Obviously, things have changed since then. I bought the computer I'm using now in December 2004, and have been kicking myself since for not waiting a few weeks to buy the first Mac Mini. I guess I'm just saying that for me Macs are the least offensive option for maintaining a semblance of technological awareness.
Regarding Blogger: just because someone else buys the company doesn't mean I switch my loyalties, unless of course it's Coors. I was always a Labatt's 50 kind of guy anyways.
A big FLAPPY QUEUE CHEER goes out to BPG.
It will be more of a 1 5/8 next time I think, Eric.
Ella's getting taller. :-)
